On this day, 35 years ago, on July 16, 1990 (May 24, 1990, the lunar calendar), my country's large-thrust launch vehicle was successfully launched. The improved "Long Second Bundle" On July 16, 1990, our country's newly developed high-thrust launch vehicle-the Long March-2 bundled launch vehicle rose from the ground at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center. The booster rocket and the primary and secondary rockets flew normally and put the simulated satellite into a predetermined orbit. The rocket was launched from my country's newly built large-scale space launch facility, and also carried a small scientific experimental satellite for Pakistan. Data from the Xi'an Satellite Monitoring and Control Center showed that the test was a complete success. This test launch was carried out to adapt to the development of my country's space industry and serve international space technology. Its successful test marks a new development and improvement in my country's launch vehicle technology and launch capabilities. This high-thrust launch vehicle is composed of the improved Long March-2 as the core stage and bundled with four boosters. It was successfully developed in a relatively short period of time by relying entirely on my country's own strength and making full use of mature technology and experience. Relevant experts said that this test proved that: the overall design of the new launch vehicle is reasonable, and the adaptability of each system meets the requirements; the newly built launch station and its equipment and facilities are reliable and practical; and the launch vehicle, simulated satellites, measurement and control communications, launch facilities and other systems have Good coordination.
