On this day 103 years ago, August 29, 1922 (July 7, 1922), the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China decided that all members of the Communist Party of China would join the Kuomintang. Ma Lin, representative of the Communist International On August 29, 1922, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China held a special meeting in Hangzhou West Lake to discuss the issue of Communist Party members joining the Kuomintang. The meeting was held on the proposal of Ma Lin. The meeting was attended by members of the Executive Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Chen Duxiu, Li Dazhao, Cai Hesen, Zhang Guotao, Gao Junyu, Ma Lin and translator Zhang Tailei also attended the meeting. At the meeting, Ma Lin conveyed the "July Resolution" and "August Instructions" of the Communist International, advocating that Communist Party members join the Kuomintang in their Li Dazhao agreed with Ma Lin's opinion, but Zhang Guotao firmly opposed it; Chen Duxiu disagreed at first, and later expressed his obedience to international resolutions, but only on the condition that the practice of playing hand models and swearing obedience to Sun Yat-sen when joining the Kuomintang was abolished. After the meeting, most people respected the instructions of the Communist International and accepted the idea of joining the Kuomintang. The meeting decided to persuade all party members to join the Kuomintang. After the meeting, Li Dazhao went to Shanghai. Sun Yat-sen showed great respect for Li Dazhao and invited him to join the Kuomintang. Li Dazhao said that he was a member of the Third International. Sun Yat-sen said: "It doesn't matter. You can join the party and help me while you are a member of the Third International." Li Dazhao was introduced by Zhang Then Chen Duxiu, Cai Hesen, Zhang Guotao and other Communists joined the Kuomintang as individuals.
