46 years ago today, on November 27, 1979 (October 8, 1979 in the lunar calendar), my country decided to resume domestic insurance business. From November 19 to 27, 1979, the National Insurance Conference was held in Beijing. With the approval of the State Council, the People's Insurance Company of China has gradually resumed domestic insurance business that had been suspended for 20 years since 1980 to meet the needs of modernization. Specific arrangements were made for this at the meeting. In accordance with the principle of "serving production, serving the masses and voluntariness, and gradually restoring domestic insurance business through pilot projects, the meeting determined that in 1980, the three cities of Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai could be gradually launched throughout the city; in principle, provinces and autonomous regions could each choose three to five large and medium-sized cities to pilot projects, and the capitals of provinces and autonomous regions and individual large cities with relatively concentrated industries and industries could take the lead. The meeting also summarized the experience of handling foreign insurance business. According to the new situation emerging in foreign trade and foreign economic exchanges, it is required to further improve service quality, improve service attitude, handle claims in a timely and reasonable manner, and make foreign insurance business better and more flexible.
