On November 3, the British clergy Secret Daosheng and Wei Shengjian, who had been hated by the people of Anqing for buying houses at a low price to convert churches, openly went to the government office to ask for the investigation of those who distributed the stickers. The masses and civil and military examinees angrily blocked and destroyed the residences of the British and French clergy. Secret Daosheng and Wei Shengjian fled to the government office to call for help, and the French cleric Han Shizhen fled by boat overnight. This is the "Anqing Lesson Plan". Afterwards, the Qing government, under the threat and intimidation of the British and French ministers in China, used the official land in the city as the foundation of the church, compensated 4,000 yuan for the loss, punished the "first offender", and reprimanded Anqing officials at all levels for their incompetence in protecting education.
