July 16, 1940 The Japanese army committed a tragedy in Yongning, Fujian
85 years ago today, on July 16, 1940 (June 12, 1940), the Japanese army committed a massacre in Yongning, Fujian. The Japanese army imposed charges on the people of our country who had been indiscriminately arrested. At 4 o'clock at dawn on July 16, 1940, two Japanese aircraft carriers approached the deep Shanghai Bay from the outer sea. Then, six more warships, four landing speedboats, and dozens of rubber dinghies sailed in from the entrance of the deep Shanghai Bay. At the same time, seven enemy aircraft took off from the aircraft carrier and bombed and strafed the villages in the Yongning area. The cannons on the warships also bombarded the surrounding villages violently. The Japanese who landed burned, killed, and looted all the way. More than a dozen Japanese soldiers rushed into the home of a Lin surnamed in Nanmen and gang-raped a young girl. The girl was stimulated and went crazy, and died tragically three days later. After being humiliated, a daughter-in-law surnamed Li bit the beast soldiers with pain in her mouth and was stabbed to death on the spot. Another group of beast soldiers smashed the door and rushed into the home of a 20-year-old overseas Chinese woman. Although the overseas Chinese woman knelt down and begged for mercy, she was still gang-raped. In Meilin Village, any young man with a shaved head found by the Japanese army was shot with a knife, and even a madman named Cai Shovel was not spared. In Gangbian Village, the Japanese army killed everyone they met. Li Ben, Li Mu brothers and seven other villagers of Xiemei Trading Firm were brutally murdered; Chen Pei and Chen Zao of Wusha villagers, and Huang Zhaojie of Jindai villagers, although they fled and hid in the trees, were inevitably killed. On the street of Yongning, the body of a carpenter surnamed Cai hung on the narrow door, his neck was almost cut off, and his face was poked with knives, so he could not distinguish his nose, mouth and eyes. Lin Wufan was caught by the Japanese army outside the west gate of Yongning. He fell in a pool of blood. Five internal organs flowed out, and two intestines were clutched in his hands. Hong Aqing, a 60-year-old woman, thought she was old and did not need to hide, and was shot by the Japanese army. Li Anian, who was in his 80s and blind, was burned alive in his home. After some were arrested and killed, they were thrown into the fire and cremated. At 4 pm, the Japanese carried a large number of looted supplies, withdrew to the warship and withdrew from the Shenzhen Bay. The Japanese ransacked 13 villages, burned more than 300 ships of various kinds, 3 school buildings, nearly 100 buildings, shops and warehouses, and killed more than 80 people.
