Qixia Temple Stupa On November 13, 1993, the rescue and repair project of Nanjing Qixia Temple Stupa, the largest stupa in our country, was completed. "Relic" is a Sanskrit transliteration of Buddhist terms, which means the colored crystals formed when the body of a Taoist monk was cremated after his death. The stupa is a stupa built around the relic. The Qixia Temple Stupa was built in the first year of Sui Renshou (601 AD). It is said that there are dozens of relic hidden in the base of the tower as the treasure of the town tower. During the Southern Tang Dynasty, Li Wangjing rebuilt the tower to mourn his mother. The existing tower is 18 meters high and is made of limestone and marble. Each layer of the tower is carved with dragon, phoenix, bird and beast patterns, 8 phase diagrams of Sakyamuni (interpreting the story of his monastic practice), four heavenly kings and flying statues, etc. The shape is vivid and lifelike, and it has high academic research and artistic appreciation value. The maintenance, led by Cai Run, an associate researcher at the China Institute of Cultural Heritage, is the largest and most technical in the previous maintenance.
