Mohammed Abdul Hassan (1864 - 1920), a Somali poet. Pioneering of the national independence movement. He traveled all over East Africa and West Asia. He spent his life fighting against colonialists and Christian churches for the pure Islamic beliefs of the Somali people. Since 1901, he led the people in the anti-British struggle until he died of illness. His poems vividly and vividly depict the deserts and arid plains of the motherland, arousing the hatred of his compatriots for the colonialists with his fierce religious and patriotic enthusiasm and winning the love of the people. He also occasionally wrote in Arabic, but these poems were far less widely circulated than his poems in Somali.
