In 1968, a certain unit of the People's Liberation Army accidentally discovered it during construction here. After Premier Zhou Enlai personally instructed the excavation, the famous archaeological expert Mr. Guo Moruo came to guide the excavation work. The two tombs are large-scale, rare in the world, and their structure resembles that of the Han Dynasty palaces. A total of more than 10,000 cultural relics were unearthed, including more than 4000 precious cultural relics. The world-famous "Golden Thread Jade Clothes","Changxin Palace Lantern","Cuojin Boshan Furnace", and "Zhuque Street Ring Cup" were unearthed here. They have been exhibited in more than 30 countries and regions including Europe, Asia, and the United States., highly praised by Chinese and foreign people. In January 1988, the Mancheng Han Tomb was approved by the State Council as a national key cultural relic protection unit. At the end of 1990. Our county developed the Han tombs in Mancheng and officially opened them to the public to receive tourists in May 1991. Ten affiliated attractions have been built, including mountaineering cableways, downhill slides, mountain grass skiing, Han Palace, Lotus Palace, Longhua Palace, Jingshi Palace, Jingwang Hunting Range, and swimming pool. Relying on its unique geographical and natural environment advantages, Lingshan successively held the 7th and 8th National Parachliding Championships and Aircraft Parachute Championships in 1995 and 1996, and the 1st and 2nd National Parachliding Invitational Tournament and Aircraft Synchronized Parachute Show in 1998 and 1999. In 1996, it was designated as the "National Parachilliding Training Base" by the Air Traffic Control Center of the State Sports Commission. The Han Tomb Scenic Area now forms a comprehensive tourism pattern that integrates historical knowledge, natural scenery, and entertainment.
