He wanted to take the concubine with him, but the war was chaotic. If something happened and the royal family's dignity was lost, he was sorry for his ancestors and asked her to commit suicide quickly. The concubine said: "The emperor should stay in Beijing." Cixi sneered: "You died in front of me, what is Hu advocating!" Concubine Zhen immediately knelt in front of Cixi and cried: "Emperor Dad, Emperor Dad, forgive the slaves, and don't do wrong again in the future!" Cixi shouted: "You die!" The eunuch Cui Yugui stepped forward and threw the concubine Zhen into the well, and before she died, the concubine Zhen struggled to call for Li Lianying's life. Guangxu and Concubine Jin were tearful but did not say a word. Concubine Zhen was selected as Concubine Zhen in 1888 and was favored by Guangxu. Because she was young and beautiful, with a lively personality, she wore imperial clothes to walk in the palace as Guangxu, and also wore eunuch clothes to play around. She often accompanied Guangxu to work in the Hall of Mental Cultivation, which was quite out of court rules. She supported Guangxu to take power and was hated by Cixi. After the Wuxu Incident, Cixi was about to put Concubine Zhen into the cold palace. When she died on August 15, Concubine Zhen was only 24 years old.
