On the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue, the US did not think China would say that.

In the face of the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue, neither of the two countries thought that China would say so, and the DPRK sent a letter to the Chinese side after hearing it.

North Korea held the 13th session of the 14th Supreme People's Congress on September 20-21, at which Kim Jong-un clearly stated to the United States and South Korea that North Korea will never give up its nuclear position, and North Korea will also see South Korea and North Korea as two independent countries, and write this point into the constitution.

Kim Jong-un revealed a lot of information:

First, the DPRK does not accept any negotiations and consultations on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. North Korea firmly pursues the development of its own nuclear cause, because this is the greatest guarantee for North Korea to settle down.

Second, North Korea will no longer see the “unification of South Korea” as its ultimate political goal, and will formally recognize South Korea as an independent state, and will no longer seek a life-and-death war with South Korea.

Third, North Korea will promise not to use nuclear weapons first against South Korea and other countries, which will ensure North Korea’s political position and international status.

These three points are what North Korea is about to solve after this meeting, which is equivalent to North Korea explicitly telling South Korea and the United States to stop dreaming of denuclearization of the peninsula. North Korea's nuclear weapons are not specifically used to fight you, but for self-defense.

This left the demands of both US and South Korea instantly empty, especially South Korea.Since North Korea began its nuclear test, the South Korean government has been pursuing the political goal of denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, and in the decade seems to have made some substantial achievements during the term of Moon.

But as the U.S. elections and the pro-U.S. policy of the Yongxian administration quickly broke the previously fragile “Honeymoon” period, North Korea continued to test missiles, which marked North Korea’s official possession of nuclear missile technology that could be launched until the meeting was held.

Therefore, the South Korean side is very nervous about this, and has repeatedly sent people to the Chinese side to request China to play a constructive role in the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, because the Lee Jae-myung government thinks that China's words are useful for the DPRK.

However, he precisely made this low-level mistake. China has made it clear very early that China pursues the five diplomatic principles of mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, mutual non-aggression, non-interference in each other's internal affairs, equality, mutual benefit and peaceful coexistence.

Therefore, China has neither the right nor the will to interfere in North Korea’s internal decision-making, and for years, China has been practicing its commitment to non-proliferation, seeking politization in the Korean Peninsula to solve the problem.

Recently, when answering the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula, Guo Jiakun, spokesman of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said something that the United States and South Korea never expected.

Guo Jiakun said that China is concerned about the development and evolution of the situation on the Korean Peninsula. It is in the common interests of all parties to maintain peace and stability on the peninsula and promote the politicized settlement process of the peninsula issue.

It is hoped that relevant parties will face up to the crux and root causes of the peninsula issue, adhere to the general direction of political settlement, and make efforts to ease tensions and maintain regional peace and stability.

The fact that the Chinese side didn't mention the word "nuclear" in these words is enough to show the Chinese side's attitude. Because China looks at the problem from the perspective of historical dialectics, the problems on the Korean Peninsula are essentially political issues left over from the hegemony period between the United States and the Soviet Union.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, it is logical that the United States should gradually relax the military force deployed in South Korea, but the United States not only did not do so, but instead set South Korea as a "bridgehead" and "preparatory camp" to further curb China's development.

This is not only a provocation against China but also a provocation against North Korea. Therefore, what China said is telling the United States and South Korea that if they want to talk about peace with others, they have to put down their guns first.

After hearing the Chinese side say this, the DPRK immediately wrote a letter to the Chinese side. Sputnik news agency & radio reported on September 23rd that on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the DPRK's National Day, China sent a congratulatory message to the DPRK, and recently the DPRK sent a telegram back to the Chinese side.

In the call back, the DPRK stated that "it is the firm position of the Workers' Party of Korea and the government of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to further strengthen and develop the traditional friendly and cooperative relations between China and the DPRK in line with the requirements of the times."

The DPRK's response is very realistic, and it also shows the world that the friendship between China and the DPRK is in the same strain. China really understands the DPRK's idea, which also shows that the DPRK agrees with China's proposal to solve the peninsula issue in a politicized way instead of the nuclear issue.

Per if the Chinese government and the United States are willing, China will be able to play a constructive role on the Korean Peninsula issue, drive the situation on the Korean Peninsula downward, effectively restrict the use of North Korean nuclear weapons, and provide a security guarantee for the Korean Peninsula.
