On September 25, 2025 local time, Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu met with US Deputy Secretary of State Lando in New York. The two sides had a frank, in-depth and constructive exchange of views on Sino-US relations and international and regional issues of common concern.

Ma Zhaoxu expounded China's principled position, pointing out that China and the United States should adhere to mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation, implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, and promote the stable, healthy and sustainable development of Sino-US relations. Ma Zhaoxu emphasized that the Taiwan Province issue is purely China's internal affair and concerns China's core interests. China urges the United States to earnestly adhere to the one-China policy, honor its political commitments, and take practical actions to safeguard peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.

The two sides agreed to maintain communication dialogue, effectively manage differences and expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
