China's Ministry of Commerce took measures on the 25th against six U.S. enterprises: Three entities including Saronik Technology and other entities were included in the list of unreliable entities, and three enterprises including Huntington Ingels Industrial and other enterprises were included in the export control control control control list.

In order to safeguard national sovereignty, security and development interests, the Ministry of Commerce, in accordance with the relevant laws, decided to include Salonic Technologies, Ercon, International Marine Engineering Company in the list of unreliable entities, and took measures to prohibit the above enterprises from engaging in import and export activities related to China, and to prohibit the above enterprises from adding new investment in China.

At the same time, the Ministry of Commerce in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Law on Export Control of the People's Republic of China and other laws and regulations, in order to safeguard national security and interests, to fulfill international obligations such as anti-proliferation, decided to include Huntington English Industrial Company, Flat Earth Management Company, Global Dimension Company in the export control control control list, prohibited the export of two-use items to the above three U.S. entities, the relevant export activities should be stopped immediately.

All the above measures will take effect from the 25th. A spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce introduced the situation on the same day, saying that in recent years, three companies, including Saronic Technology Company, Alcon Company and International Ocean Engineering Company, have carried out so-called military and technical cooperation with Taiwan despite China's strong opposition, which has seriously damaged China's national sovereignty, security and development interests. China will pursue its legal responsibility according to law.

The Global Times reporter noted that the Ministry of Commerce spokesman used the expression "to endanger China's national security and interests" when referring to three companies including Huntington Ingels Industrial Company included on the export control control control control list.

Among these six companies, Saronic Technology Company, Alcon Company and International Ocean Engineering Company were sanctioned by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in December last year. Saronic Technologies is a company that provides unmanned vessels on the water for the Navy or maritime forces; The main business of International Offshore Engineering Company is to provide engineering services and products for the offshore energy industry, covering national defense, aerospace and renewable energy fields; Alcon Corporation is an innovative satellite technology company that provides carrier-neutral and software-defined infrastructure for multi-orbit, end-to-end satellite broadband connectivity.

Huntington Ingels Industrial and Flat Earth Management have been listed as unreliable entities by the Ministry of Commerce of China in March this year. Huntington Ingels Industry is the largest military shipbuilding company in the United States, providing professional services to government and industrial partners.According to Reuters, the company attended a Taiwan Defense Department exhibition in June this year to show unmanned surface vessels that could eventually join the Taiwan arsenal.

Li Fei, director of the Hong Kong Macao Research Center at Xiamen University, told the Global Times that in recent years, the United States has advanced arms sales to Taiwan, and weapons have developed from defensive weapons in the past to offensive weapons.The Taiwan issue concerns China's sovereignty and territorial integrity, involves China's core interests, and does not allow any external forces to interfere in any way.

Li said that there are two aspects of the current sanctions, on the one hand, the implementation of export control, the two-use items involved may be mainly rare earth, which is the raw material needed by U.S. science and technology and military enterprises; on the other hand, the unreliable entity listing system, the ban on China's export or investment, the way of blocking the market, to drive it out of the large-scale Chinese market, means its profitability is reduced, research investment funds are correspondingly reduced, and the pace of overall technology upgrades is slowed.
