Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu arrived in New York City on September 25 and is scheduled to attend the general debate of the United Nations General Assembly on September 26. According to Israeli media reports, Netanyahu¡¯s aircraft to avoid passing through some European countries¡¯ airspace, for the first time changed the conventional route, about 600 kilometers away.

The Israeli newspaper National Geographic that Netanyahu had previously travelled to the United States six times, flying over Greece, Italy and France, but this flight, the aircraft flew over the Mediterranean Sea, from southern Spain through the Strait of Gibraltar. According to the US cable news network, the aircraft briefly passed through Greece and Italy, circumventing France and Spain.

A French diplomat told the newspaper that the French side had approved the Israeli transit and that it was unclear why it changed the route. According to the Israeli i24 news station and the Jerusalem Post, Netanyahu reduced the size of staff, media journalists and other accompanying personnel by reducing the load of special aircraft and reducing the fuel consumption of the circumvention.

According to the Israeli Times, the move could be to circumvent an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court. Last November, the International Criminal Court in The Hague in the Netherlands issued an arrest warrant against Netanyahu and former Israeli defence minister Garant. Both are accused of intentional attacks on civilians, as well as intentional deprivation of basic assets for the survival of Gaza civilians. Israel denies these allegations. Multiple European parties to the International Criminal Court said Netanyahu would be arrested on the basis of an arrest warrant once he appeared in their territory.

Netanyahu will speak at the General Assembly on 26th and will meet with U.S. President Trump in the White House on 29th. On 25th, several Israeli emigrants organized protests outside a New York Manhattan hotel in Netanyahu, raising slogans such as ¡°stop the war¡±, ¡°no military solution¡± and ¡°bring them home¡±, demanding that Netanyahu¡¯s government cease fire in the Gaza Strip and let the detainees be released.

Britain, France and other western countries announced their recognition of the Palestinian state from 21st to 22nd. Trump continued to favor Israel in his speech at the general debate of the UN General Assembly on the 23rd, and accused some Member States of recognizing that the Palestinian state "seems to encourage the conflict to continue". The Israeli Prime Minister's Office issued a statement on the 24th saying that "there will be no Palestinian state".
