The North American Air Defense Command said in a statement on September 25 local time that U.S. fighter jets had taken an emergency flight on September 24 to identify and intercept four Russian fighter jets flying near Alaska.
The North American Air Defense Command said two Russian Map-95 long-range strategic bombers and two Su-35 fighters were flying in the Alaska air defense identification zone.The North American Air Defense Command responded on the 24th, sending an E-3 early warning aircraft, four F-16 fighters and four KC-135 tankers to effectively identify and intercept Russian aircraft in the Alaska air defense identification zone.
Russia has not responded to this.
