On the 25th local time, Ukrainian President Zelensky said in an interview with the US media Aksios News Network that he had received clear support from US President Trump for attacking Russian targets (such as energy infrastructure and weapons manufacturing plants).

Zelensky said he made a specific request to Trump during the meeting about obtaining a new type of weapons system, believing that the system would force the Russian side back to the negotiating table.

Zelensky pointed out that Trump knows that Ukraine needs the same thing, but that doesn¡¯t mean that it will use it. But if Ukraine gets it, it will put extra pressure on Putin, forcing him to sit down and negotiate. Zelensky refused to publicly disclose what weapons are specifically, but said Trump responded to him: ¡°We will do research on this.¡±

Zelensky also said in the interview that he was ready to leave the post after the end of the conflict in Russia and that he would ask parliament to hold presidential elections if a ceasefire agreement was reached with Russia.
