Turkish Interior Minister Yelikaia said on September 25 that in the past week, the Turkish government in the country's 81 provinces carried out special operations against illegal gunholders, a total of 1867 illegal weapons.

Yelikaia said on his social media platform that the special operation has seized more than 240,000 unlawful weapons and taken legal action against more than 270,000 suspects.

Yelikaia stressed that Turkey will continue to fight the illegal weapons supply chain and prevent criminal forces from undermining social order.
