US media: Trump aide Budovich will leave the White House, the highest-ranking official to leave since his second term

According to Axios News Network on September 24, informed sources revealed that White House Deputy Secretary-General Taylor Budowich, who oversees communications, plans to leave the U.S. government at the end of this month to enter private enterprises.

The White House chief of staff, Susie Wells, responded: “Taylor is a dear friend and I know President Trump respects him very much. I don’t want to see him leave either personally or professionally, but I wish him all the best in his next choice.”

Stephen Miller, the White House's deputy chief of staff for policy, called Budovich a "true Make America Great Again (MAGA) loyalist" who "poured his heart into this movement and our president". Dan Scavino, another deputy chief of staff, said Budovich was a "important asset" for Trump's second term.

Budovich has served as Trump's adviser for a long time. He began to participate in Trump's campaign in 2020 and joined Trump's "inner circle" in 2021. While working for Trump, Budovich has been summoned several times, including the U.S. Congressional investigation into the "Capitol Hill riots" in 2021.

During the 2024 US election, Budovich founded MAGA Inc, a pro-Trump super political action committee. And the nonprofit Ensure America Great, which are the leading pro-Trump groups, raising and spending more than $600 million on Trump's campaign. In August 2024, Budovich left outside groups to join Trump's campaign.

During his tenure at the White House, Budovich oversaw communications, public communications, cabinet affairs and speeches.Axios News Network noted that Budovich was also a close ally of U.S. Vice President Wences and worked closely with other cabinet members.

U.S. Cable News Network (CNN) noted that Budovich would become the highest-level official to leave since Trump's second term. Previously, the highest-level official to leave was Mike Walz, who was dismissed from the position of Assistant President of the United States for National Security Affairs due to crowd-chatting leaks, but Walz has been the U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations since September 21.

CNN said that eight months have passed since Trump returned to the White House, and it is not uncommon for White House officials to leave after about a year of work. But compared to the frequent personnel changes during Trump's first term, the staff in the second term is relatively stable.
