According to Ukrainian and Russian media reports on Thursday, Ukrainian President Zelensky, who is visiting the United States, said he was willing to meet with Russian President Putin anywhere except Moscow.
Responding to questions about where the Russian leaders met, Zelensky said there are many options, including Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Austria or Switzerland, as well as in Russia-friendly countries such as Kazakhstan.
Russia's First Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Polyansky said at a meeting of the UN Security Council on Ukraine that Russia is willing to resolve the Ukraine issue through negotiations, not rejecting any form of negotiation, but advocates a serious, open and substantive dialogue.
Russian Presidential Press Secretary peskov said in an interview with Russian media on the 24th that Putin is willing to meet with Zelensky, but if he is not fully prepared, this will be a "public relations act doomed to failure." Peskov also said that Ukraine has "no interest" in Russia's proposal to set up a working group to advance negotiations.
Kazakh President Tokayev said in an interview with the Kazakhstan-Ukrainian news network that Kazakhstan is not a mediator in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, but is willing to serve as a venue for negotiations and meetings between the two countries at all levels if necessary and to provide "friendly services" for this.
