After meeting with Trump, eight Arab and Islamic countries issued a joint statement calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.

During the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, after meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, the leaders and politicians of eight Arab and Islamic countries issued a joint statement on 24 local time saying that the situation in the Gaza Strip is "intolerable" and reiterated their opposition to forced displacement of Palestinians and the need for an immediate ceasefire, which is the first step towards a just and lasting peace.

According to the joint statement, the leaders and politicians attending the meeting include: Qatar Emir (Head of State) Tamim, King Abdullah II of Jordan, President of Turkey Erdogan, President of Indonesia Prabhupada, Prime Minister Sharif of Pakistan, Prime Minister of Egypt Madlibli, Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia Fezar bin Farhan and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates.

Participating leaders and politicians reiterated their opposition to forced displacement of Palestinians, must allow displaced persons to return to their homes, must end the war in the Gaza Strip and have an immediate ceasefire to ensure the release of detainees and allow sufficient humanitarian aid to enter Gaza.

Participants also said that it is necessary to formulate a stability plan and related details, while ensuring the stability of the West Bank and Jerusalem, and all parties support the efforts of the Palestinian National Authority to promote reform. They also said that "it is necessary to formulate a comprehensive Gaza reconstruction plan and security program based on the plans of Arab countries and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and support the Palestinian leadership through international assistance". All parties pledged to work together to ensure the successful implementation of the plan and rebuild the lives of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

During the high-level international conference on the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue and implementation of the “Two-State Plan” held on 22 September, France, Belgium, Andorra, Luxembourg, Malta, and Monaco announced the recognition of the State of Palestine. The day before, Britain, Canada, Australia, Portugal had made the same decision. According to media reports, as of 23 September, 157 of the 193 member states of the United Nations had already recognized the State of Palestine.

The Gaza Strip Health Department issued a statement on the afternoon of September 24 local time that the Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours has resulted in 37 Palestinians killed and 175 wounded.
