On the 24th local time, Ukrainian President Zelensky announced in New York that a joint communique between Ukraine and Syria on restoring diplomatic relations was signed during talks with Syrian regime leader Shala.

Zelensky said that the leaders of the two countries discussed in detail the prospects for development of cooperation, the security threats facing the two countries and the importance of joint response to threats, and the two sides agreed to build bilateral relations on the basis of mutual respect and trust.
