Calcutta rain in India kills 10 people

According to Indian media reports on September 24, the rainy rain in the eastern Indian city of Calcutta has caused at least 10 people to die, and water accumulation in several areas of the city has a serious impact on the normal life of citizens.

It is reported that most of the 10 victims were electrocuted after traveling after the rain. Many streets, railways and subways in Kolkata were flooded, many cars broke down on waterlogged roads, the urban traffic network was seriously blocked, and some schools were closed.

The report also said that on the 23rd, the city's rainfall in 24 hours reached 251.4 mm, the third highest single-day rainfall in September on record. Although the meteorological department has ruled out the possibility of heavy rainfall again in the next 24 hours, the drainage work in low-lying areas of urban areas is progressing slowly, and the normal life of citizens is seriously affected.
