EU Statistics Bureau: China becomes EU’s largest supplier of high-tech products

On September 24th, local time, data released by Eurostat showed that China occupied a prominent position in the EU's high-tech trade pattern. In 2024, 30% of the EU's high-tech imports came from China (141 billion euros), surpassing the United States (23%, 111 billion euros),The largest supplier in the EUThe other major sources are Switzerland (6%, 31 billion euros), Vietnam (5%, 24 billion euros) and the UK (4%, 21 billion euros).

In terms of product categories, electronics and telecommunications products represent the largest portion of high-tech imports to the EU (36 percent).China dominates; Computers and office equipment accounted for 18%, and medicines accounted for 15%, mainly from China and the United States, respectively.
