Khamenei stressed that Iran did not succumb to pressure and will not succumb to it in the future, accusing the United States of disbelief and lies and cheating, saying it is not trustworthy or confident to negotiate with such countries.

Since April this year, the United States and Iran have held five rounds of indirect negotiations on core issues such as uranium enrichment under the mediation of Oman, but differences are significant. In June, the sixth round of negotiations was cancelled due to Israeli raids and the US-Iran military conflict that followed.
