After the press group left the court, the trial officially began. The chief judge asked for information such as Kim¡¯s date of birth at the beginning. When asked about ¡°Accused, are you unemployed?¡± she replied, ¡°Yes, I am unemployed.¡± When asked whether citizens would like to participate in the trial, she answered explicitly, ¡°No.¡±

According to South Korean media reports, the Seoul Central District Court held its first hearing on the corruption case involving Kim Jong-il at 14:10 on the 24th. The court said it would allow media agencies to take photos and videos at the courtroom and publish them to the outside.

The Central District Court of Seoul issued an arrest warrant on 12 August against Kim Jiangxi, who has been detained since.
