Maduro: U.S. intends to start war with false narratives

Venezuelan President Maduro said in the capital of Caracas on September 23, that the United States created false narratives, intended to force violence in the Caribbean and South America, and threatened to escalate the situation, thus evolving into a "catastrophic war".

Maduro, who attended a government meeting on the same day, also said that the U.S. position against the Commission is facing growing opposition from the international community. The Venezuelan people will firmly defend the truth and make every effort to “fight lies, violence and immorality” and against any foreign aggression that attempts to undermine national sovereignty, peace and independence.

On the same day, a massive march was held in Caracas, calling for the defense of Venezuela’s sovereignty and peace against the U.S. military threat in the Caribbean.

The U.S. has deployed several warships in the Caribbean waters near Venezuela to "fight Latin American drug traffickers" and has so far announced that it has destroyed three "drug ships" and killed 17 "drug traffickers".
