Breaking-News >> WorldNews Protests broke out in many places in Italy, and the Italian Prime Minister stated in the United States: "No objection" to recognizing the Palestinian state
Italian Prime Minister Meloni said on Tuesday that she was not opposed to recognizing a Palestinian state, but on two conditions: the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) should release all detained and the group should be excluded from the Pakistani government. “I’m not against recognizing a Palestinian state, but we need to define our priorities,” Meloni told reporters at the United Nations General Assembly in New York that the ruling coalition would put forward a motion in parliament that would set two conditions for recognition of the Palestinian state: “the release of hostages and, of course, the removal of Hamas from all Palestinian government processes.” Meloni added, "Personally, I still believe that recognizing a Palestinian state without a state with (identified) sovereign attributes will not solve the problem and will not bring tangible results for the Palestinians." Italy has not yet joined the recent "recognition of the Palestinian state" of Britain, France and other European countries. But Meloni’s remarks about “not opposing” the establishment of a Palestinian state are also very different from those of U.S. President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. At the time of Meloni's statements, strikes and demonstrations in solidarity with the Palestinians broke out across Italy on 22nd, protesting the Italian government's supply of weapons to Israel, demanding that Israel stop the "genocide" in the Gaza Strip, and calling for humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip.
