Adam Smith, the chief member of the military committee of the U.S. House of Representatives, who led the delegation, said at a press conference that the goal of the visit was to expand the communication channels between the two sides, and there is no doubt that the U.S.-China bilateral relations will have the most profound impact on the world pattern in the coming decades. Smith served as chairman of the House Armed Services Committee and is currently the Democratic leader of the relevant committee. The committee oversees the U.S. Department of Defense and the armed forces. The delegation paid an official visit to China and held talks with the Chinese side from the 21st. This is the first time that a delegation of the US House of Representatives has visited China since 2019.
