Trump says Ukraine's border is hopeful to "restore to its original state"

U.S. President Donald Trump said on September 23 that he now believes that Ukraine, with the support of the EU and NATO, is hopeful to "win back all of Ukraine and restore the original state of affairs."

Trump posted on social media that he understood the military and economic conditions of Ukraine and Russia, and believed that the war that lasted for more than three and a half years had created economic difficulties for Russia. With EU financial support, especially NATO military support, plus time and patience, returning to "the original borders at the beginning of this war is a perfectly viable option". He also said that the United States will continue to provide weapons to NATO allies.

After Trump returned to the White House in late January this year, he continued to pressure Ukraine to make concessions in the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations. The change in stance in the 23rd statement caused concern among the parties. Analysts believe that this is related to the stagnation of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations after the Alaska summit of the US leaders on August 15.

Earlier that day, when Trump held a bilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Zelensky during the United Nations Assembly in New York, a reporter asked whether Trump’s NATO countries should “shoot down a Russian aircraft entering its airspace,” Trump replied, “Yes, I think,” “When asked whether the United States would support NATO allies on this, Trump said, “It depends on the specific circumstances.”

On the 9th and 19th of this month, Poland and Estonia, respectively, accused Russian drones and fighter jets of infringing airspace, which Russia denied, while NATO launched a military operation "Eastern Guards" to strengthen defense and deterrence in the NATO's eastern wing.
