After the end of the four-time talks, Trump finally reached Beijing's phone call, where will the future of China-U.S. relations go?
According to the People's Daily, on the evening of September 19, China and the President of the United States held ordinary phone calls, and the conversation was pragmatic, positive and constructive.
The Chinese side pointed out that the two sides can fully mutual achievement, common prosperity, benefit both countries and benefit the world.
Trump also said in the phone that U.S.-China relations are the most important bilateral relations in the world, the cooperation between the two countries can do a lot of great things that are conducive to world peace and stability, and the U.S. side is willing to work with China to safeguard world peace.
The last call was three months ago, on June 5th.Two calls spoke from China-US relations, to economic and trade relations between the two sides, from strategy to tactics.
At the same time, it is precisely because of the previous four rounds of trade negotiations that both sides showed sincerity and made concessions that won the atmosphere for this call.
During the four negotiations, the United States made at least four concessions in succession.
The first two sides established a continuing consultation mechanism, which laid the foundation for the next four-year term of the Trump administration, China-US economic and trade communication.
Second, the U.S. has actively lifted tariffs on China over 100%, suspended 24% tariffs for the initial 90 days, and retained 10% tariffs.
The third is that China and the United States have reciprocally lifted restrictions in key areas. The United States has lifted some technology export restrictions, and China has lifted some rare earth embargo measures.
It is worth noting here that the US technology blockade against China has not been completely lifted, and even some key technologies, such as artificial intelligence chips, have become more severe.
Then, as a counterpart, China's supply of rare earth to the United States, although there is a certain recovery, but the scale of the normal period, is still a bigger gap.
In particular, American military industrial enterprises still haven't got the rare earth resources they want.
The fourth is about the overseas version of Douyin. The United States no longer insists on "banning it if you don't sell it." The Chinese government will examine and approve related technology exports and intellectual property matters according to law. This is China's initial cooperation in the digital economy order.
Where will Sino-US relations go in the future? We should remain optimistic, but we should not be too optimistic.
A clear belief is that China and the United States are not the United States and the Soviet Union in those days. The relationship between the two sides determines that it is impossible to decouple and break links, let alone enter a new Cold War.
This is not because China does not dare to do so, or that China cannot tolerate it, but it depends on the development of the global situation and the future fate of mankind.
