U.S. judge rules Trump administration must restore more than $500 million in funding to University of California

On September 23, local time, the U.S. Federal District Judge Linetta ruled,The Trump administration must resume the release of more than $500 million in previously frozen federal funds for UCLA.The court found that the federal government may have violated the Administrative Procedure Law when it froze funds and failed to provide adequate notice or explanation.

On the 16th of this month, unions, teachers and students within the U.S. University system filed a lawsuit with the Northern District Federal District Court, accusing the Trump administration of freezing federal funds and taking a series of measures aimed at suppressing academic freedom.
