Iranian media: Iranian minister says he seeks to make China the top partner of Iran's tourism industry

[Global Network Reporter zhangqian] According to Iran's Tehran Times and Noor News Network, Reza Salehi Amiri, Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Iran, recently said that Iran plans to consult with the Chinese government to expand the cooperation between the two countries in tourism, and Iran seeks to make China the primary partner of Iran's tourism industry.

“China is our primary trading partner, and we hope it will also be our primary tourism partner,” Salih Amir said at a conference that Iran must ensure its share in the market and mentioned the importance of attracting Chinese tourists.

The Tehran Times said he added that Iran needs more foreign tourists, which is crucial forining its tourism operations.

In order to attract more Chinese tourists, Iran has implemented a unilateral visa-free policy for Chinese citizens entering Iran since July 16, 2019. Iran has also prepared a Chinese guide manual for Chinese tourists to enable Chinese tourists to gain a deeper understanding of the local culture when visiting Iranian museums and sites.
