Germany was bombed to advance "big plan", "nearly no space for American weapons"

“Nearly no space for U.S. weapons”: U.S. media bomb: Germany advances the 83-billion-euro military purchase plan, U.S. weapons only 8%

On September 23rd, the US "Political News Network" quoted Germany's latest military purchase plan as saying that Germany is ready to advance contracts of nearly 83 billion euros in the next year. However, this large-scale plan mainly favors European industry, and only 8% of the share is used to purchase American weapons, "leaving almost no room for American weapons". "Political News Network" commented that this was a blow to the United States. Despite the geopolitical turmoil caused by the White House, US President Trump has been putting pressure on European countries to continue to buy American weapons.

On May 2, 2024, an armored vehicle handed over to the German Federal Defense Army was undergoing a maneuvering exercise.

According to the report, the list prepared for the Budget Committee of the German Parliament details 154 major defense procurement projects from September 2025 to December 2026. The documents show that projects led by American companies account for only a very small number. U.S. contractors have only led two large procurement projects: about 150 million euros for carrying torpedoes for Boeing P-8A anti-submarine patrol aircraft, and about 5.1 billion euros for MIM-104 Patriot anti-aircraft missiles and launchers.

Other U.S.-led procurement projects on the list, including advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles (AMRAAM), advanced sea-swanfighting missiles (ESSM) and radio equipment, amounted to approximately 6.8 billion euros, accounting for about 8% of the German program, and the vast majority of the remaining money was all flown to European industry.

In recent years, Germany has been one of the largest U.S. defense customers, and has once been ranked as one of the main destinations for U.S. arms exports alongside Poland and Japan.
