Xinhua news agency Seoul, September 23 (reporter Zhang Sun One) The South Korean waterfront court on September 23 issued a first-trial judgment on the case of the "Fire of the battery plant in Washington City" that caused major casualties, and sentenced the representative of the enterprise in question,ÆÓ´¾ (Òô), to 15 years in prison.

The South Korean Waterland Court issued the judgment on the same day on the violation of the Law on Major Disasters Punishment and the Industrial Safety and Healthcare Law, and said that this is the highest sentence sentenced in relevant cases since the implementation of the Law on Major Disasters Punishment in 2022.

The court found that Mr. Park violated his obligation to maintain emergency exit and evacuation passages, failed to fulfill his responsibility to ensure safety and health, and there was a causal relationship between the deaths of employees. South Korean media that the court believed that "the fire accident caused the deaths of 23 people, the circumstances are extremely serious and therefore need to be proportionately harsh punishment."

On the same day, the court also sentenced the son of Park Yongzhu, the company involved, to 15 years in prison for violation of the Industrial Safety and Healthcare Law, and a fine of 1 million yuan for business misconduct.

On June 24, 2024, a fire at a battery manufacturing plant in the city of Guizhou, South Korea, killed 23 people, including 17 Chinese citizens.The South Korean police and the Employment Labor Ministry's "Fire of the Battery Factory" accident investigation team published in August last year showed that the battery factory has been using packaging and other methods through quality inspection, production process abuse, resulting in bad battery products fire and cause major casualties.
