President of the Congo says he will not "auktion mineral resources" to the United States

President Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of the Congo said on the 22nd local time that the peace agreement signed by the country with Rwanda in June this year under the mediation of the United States did not quell the war in the eastern part of the country. Tshisekedi also said that although he supported U.S. mediation,But the Congo (Kim) will not “auktion mineral resources” to the United States

While attending the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Zizekdi told reporters that the Congo would cooperate with the United States in mining, infrastructure construction, etc., but that does not mean that the Congo would "auction our mineral resources" to the United States.

On the day when the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda signed a comprehensive peace agreement in Washington, DC, on June 27th, US President Trump called it "a brilliant victory", and the agreement would give the United States "a large number of mineral mining rights" in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The Trump administration isly keen to end the internal war in the Congo and attract billions of dollars of Western investment into this region rich in rare mineral resources.

However, despite Congo (Kim) and Rwanda’s pledges to end the 30-year-old conflict, the Congo (Kim) government and the rebel-armed “M23 movement” failed to reach a peace agreement before the August 18 deadline, and the fighting in the east of the Congo (Kim) has not calmed.
