On the evening of the 22nd local time, Palestinian President Abbas delivered a speech at the United Nations General Assembly via video, expressing his gratitude to the United Nations and participating countries for contributing to the New York Declaration. Abbas said that the declaration marked the beginning of "irreversible steps" by the international community to end the humanitarian crisis in Palestine and the Israeli occupation, promote the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and coexist in security, peace and good neighborliness with Israel.

Regarding the post-war administration of Gaza, Abbas proposed the establishment of an interim management committee, supported by the Arab and international community, led by the Palestinian government on the West Bank. Abbas called on the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and other armed groups to hand over weapons to the Palestinian national authorities, and pledged to advance a comprehensive reform agenda and strengthen governance, transparency and the building of the rule of law.

Abbas expressed his gratitude to several countries that have recently recognized the State of Palestine, called on countries that have not yet recognized Palestine to act as soon as possible to support Palestine as a full member of the United Nations, and expressed his willingness to work with the international community to promote the implementation of the ¡°two-state plan¡±, laying the foundation for regional peace, security and prosperity.
