Venezuelan Foreign Minister condemns U.S. military deployment in the Caribbean

On the 22nd local time, under the framework of the United Nations General Assembly, the Foreign Ministers' Meeting of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) was held in new york, USA. Delegates discussed the challenges brought by the current militarization situation of the Caribbean Sea to the region.

Venezuelan Foreign Secretary Hill said in a speech that several warships and a nuclear submarine have recently been deployed in Venezuelan waters under the pressure of the U.S. government, and that the presence of these warships has become the biggest threat to the peace region in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Hill said that the pretext for the U.S. military deployment was based on a huge lie that the U.S. claimed that the ocean facilitated the trafficking of drugs in Latin America and South America, so that the United States must implement military threats to the region according to unilateral standards, and that it is necessary to make it clear that in the 25 annual reports released by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime from 1999 to the present day, Venezuela has always recognized that it is a country without illegal cultivation, without drug production, and resolutely combating drug trafficking and money laundering.

Hill stressed that Venezuela has always worked with the international community to combat drug trafficking.
