More than 120 countries recognized Palestine, but Netanyahu openly threatened retaliation. Israel now wants to defy the world and play with fire on two things.
On September 21, international politics came up with heavy news: Portugal, Britain, Canada and Australia almost simultaneously announced the official recognition of the Palestinian state.

For a long time, the process of establishing a Palestinian state has been obstructed by Israeli forces and has been difficult.
However, as the war in Gaza continues to escalate and the humanitarian crisis intensifies, the international community's attention to the Palestinian-Israeli issue has reached an unprecedented height. The collective turn of many western countries undoubtedly released a strong wind direction signal.
In addition to the above four countries, France, Belgium and other countries also plan to follow up the recognition during the UN General Assembly this week. Up to now, about 128 countries around the world have recognized the state of Palestine.

On the 21st of September, international politics exploded. Britain’s Prime Minister Stammer hit a few lines on social networks to officially announce the recognition of the State of Palestine; Canadian Prime Minister Carney’s office immediately issued a statement, and the Australian government also rushed to publish a communiqué on the same day, and even Portugal expressed itself by signing a joint declaration. The four Western nations almost stumbled on the same drum point, giving Palestine a late position, which had never been imagined before.

Even Germany can’t stand this, because of historical reasons has been a blind eye on Israel, not only suspended arms sales, but also the United French condemned Israel’s expansion of settlements, which was just a nightmare.
Spain has done even more, not only recognizing the Palestinian state, but also taking the lead in imposing an arms embargo and calling for a global boycott of Israeli athletes. The streets of Europe are full of crowds protesting against Israel, and the wave of civil boycotts against Zionism is growing. These changes clearly show that the patience of the international community with Israel has been exhausted. If the fight continues like this, no one can pretend to be invisible.
Netanyahu is the hardest in the world, behind it are extreme forces in the palace.
In the face of the collective shift of so many countries, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu not only disobeyed, but made a harsh speech more loud. he said in his statement, “There can never be a Palestinian state!” and threatened those countries that recognize Palestine: “When I come back from the United States, you will see!”
More radical than him was Treasury Minister Smotrich, the far-right politician who directly shouted to “annex the entire West Bank”. This was not even seen by the United States, and a State Department spokesman publicly criticized the statement as “disgusting”, and urged Netanyahu to rush to deny this claim. But Netanyahu dared? his government was all backed by far-right political parties, and if the Jewish Power Party and the religious Zionist Party were to be withdrawn, the cabinet had to collapse. The two parties spoke early, who dared to talk with Hamas, they took the lead out of the ruling coalition and left Netanyahu the prime minister.
In order to preserve his position, Netanyahu kicked out peace advocates one by one. In June 2024, the center-left representative Benny Gantz withdrew from the wartime cabinet; in November, even Defense Secretary Joaf Garant was dismissed because he advocated a ceasefire negotiation with Hamas. The current Israeli government, which has become the heavens of extremists, whispers every day to “destroy Hamas” and in fact binds the whole country to a chariot.
Netanyahu knows more than anyone that once a ceasefire has happened, he will have to be held accountable for the Hamas attacks in 2023 and that corruption lawsuits will come to the door, so he would rather take Israel into the pit and keep it tough. This approach for personal power, regardless of the national interests, is not even seen by the Israelis themselves. The media comment that the current government is the “most right” in Israel’s history, they take territorial expansion as their ultimate goal, and the international community’s opposition as an earshower.
At the expense of hostility to the world, the path of Israel is becoming narrower.
Netanyahu may think that there is an American backing, but the reality quickly gave him a hand. The U.S. Senate has a Democratic proposal to recognize the State of Palestine, which was unthinkable before. Though the bill has not been passed, it shows that there have been disagreements within the U.S. Even worse, the negative opinion of the U.S. people about Israel has risen to 53 percent, and 43 percent believe that Israel is engaged in “genocide” in Gaza. These data have left the Biden government seated, and so on, the Democratic elections are suspended next year.
Even the most fiery allies began to shake, other countries are not to mention. Saudi Arabia and Pakistan signed a joint defense agreement, stating that “attacking any side is attacking both countries”, which obviously comes to Israel. Egyptian President Sisi even directly called Israel “enemy”, knowing that Egypt is the first Arab state to establish relations with Israel, now on this point, it can be seen that Israel blames its neighbors.
Netanyahu himself acknowledged that Israel was becoming isolated, then economically “on its own”. This sounded tough, in fact it was no way. EU sanctions hanged on its head, Germany suspended arms sales, Spain resisted, and the countries who were willing to send money and technology, now start to clear the boundaries. Israel’s high-tech industry, although great, but can never close the door to play for themselves, long-term isolation, the economy will be a big problem sooner or later.
The most dangerous thing is that the regional situation is completely out of control. Israel's air strikes against peace talkers in Qatar have expanded the war to six countries. Now Hezbollah in Lebanon, Houthi armed forces in Yemen, and Iran are all directly engaged in Israel. UN Secretary-General Guterres warned that the whole Middle East is heading for a "raging fire", but Netanyahu is still hard-mouthed, as if he could really win all countries.
Ultimately, Israel’s security cannot depend on the robbery of other people’s land, nor on endless wars.
128 countries recognize Palestine, not to confront Israel, but hoping to peace through the “two-country scheme”. But the Netanyahu government is willing to reverse, pushing itself to the corner of the wall. Now even the United States can not quickly embrace him, the Senate bills, the opposition of the people, are ringing the alarm clock to Israel. If it is not awake, continue to follow the extreme right-wing path to black, in the end wounded will be only the ordinary Israeli people. After all, in this interconnected world, no country can truly “on its own” live as an island, let alone in the enemy surrounded Middle East.
