The 13th Session of the 14th Supreme People's Conference of the DPRK was held on September 20 and 21.General Secretary of the Labour Party of the DPRK and President of the State Kim Jong-un attended the event and delivered a speech on September 21.
Kim said the U.S. and its allies abused power in order to safeguard their hegemony and ambitions, leading to increasing instability and a global crisis.The U.S. and its allies, despite North Korea’s security concerns, often took provocative actions to further escalate tensions.
Kim pointed out that this year, both the new U.S. and South Korean governments have expressed a willingness to dialogue with North Korea and seek to improve relations, but its essence is to weaken North Korea's strength and undermine North Korea's system.
Kim Jong-un said that North Korea's transformation into a nuclear-armed country is an inevitable choice for the country's survival. North Korea will never give up its nuclear weapons, nor will it hold any negotiations with its opponents in order to lift sanctions. However, if the United States gives up its persistence in denuclearization, recognizes the reality and seeks real peaceful coexistence with the DPRK, there is no reason why the DPRK should not negotiate face to face with the US.
