According to US media reports on September 20, Carmen and Daniel McCormack tied the knot at a private ceremony in 2024. Since then, there have been many misunderstandings about their relationship.
Conjoined twins Carmen and Lupita Andrade, along with Carmen's husband, Daniel McCormack, opened up to the media about marriage, misunderstandings and questions they wanted strangers to stop asking. "We have always been underestimated," Carmen revealed exclusively to the media, "and when we encounter medical problems, sometimes our symptoms are attributed to just because we are conjoined twins".
Carmen said that the consequences of this are simply painful. She said, "We have endometriosis", adding that it "has seriously affected our daily lives at the moment". However, it is difficult to find a doctor who is willing to perform their hysterectomy because doctors are "afraid to give them anesthetics". Carmen said, "I understand why they are so cautious, but sometimes she still can't help thinking, so how am I supposed to get to work? Are you going to pay my bills"?
The conjoined twins, 25 years old and born in Mexico, have been breaking many odds over the years and living far beyond doctors' expectations, as the media has previously reported. They share part of the ribs, circulatory system, digestive and reproductive systems, but each has an independent heart, a set of lungs and a stomach. Doctors told them that separation surgery could lead to serious neurological problems and even death. In the end, Carmen and Lupita decided not to have separation surgery.
