Breaking-News >> WorldNews Former President of Slovenia: China's contribution to World War II should be fully recognized
In an interview with Xinhua News Agency on September 21, Slovenia's former president Daniel Turke said that China's sacrifices and contributions during World War II deserve wider recognition. Turke served as President of Slovenia from 2007 to 2012 and is now a professor of international law. He pointed out that Western nations generally regard September 1, 1939 as the day of the outbreak of World War II, but the actual warfare in Asia had begun long before that. Long before the outbreak of the European battlefield war, China was one of the first nations to resist Japanese militarist aggression. China's contribution to the victory in World War II should be fully recognized. Turke said that remembering history is the responsibility of the entire international community, and China has made a crucial contribution to defeating Japanese militarism. Turke believes that the younger generation needs a better understanding of history, and cultural workers should do more to preserve the memory of that era. He said that China has played a constructive role inining world peace and promoting multilateralism. The global governance initiative put forward by China is very important, “China has enough strength, confidence and wisdom to develop its economy and expand international cooperation, which allows China to fully express its views on the world today, as well as put forward a vision for building the world in the future.” News raw data sources → https://world.huanqiu.com/article/4OPzziwfUnI 17WorldNews[2025.09.21-22:39] 访问:58
