This morning (21st),The UNESCO International STEM Educational Research Institute was established in Shanghai.Formally established after two years of preparation, the Institute is the 10th Class Centre established by UNESCO worldwide and its first Global Class Centre in the Asia-Pacific region.

In the future, UNESCO International Institute of STEM Education will focus on STEM disciplines (i.e. "Science, Tecnology, Engineering, Math") and interdisciplinary educational innovation, guided by cultivating students' innovative ability and solving practical problems, and organizing international collaborative research, building a policy dialogue platform, putting forward guidelines or suggestions, and carrying out special training to promote the development of global STEM education.

The UNESCO International STEM Education Research Institute is based in China, contributes to the integrated development of China's educational strength and educational and technological talent, and also helps China to actively participate in global STEM education governance and share China's excellent practice in STEM education with the world.
