Xinhua News Agency, Moscow, September 20 (Reporter Bao Nuomin, Liu Kai) Zibliski, governor of Arkhangelsk, Russia, said in an interview with Xinhua News Agency recently that the development of the Northern Waterway has strategic significance and logistics potential, which will have a positive impact on the global trade pattern.

Zibliski pointed out that the Northern Waterway, as the shortest sea channel connecting Asia and Europe, is expected to be navigable throughout the year in the next five to six years. At present, ships with corresponding ice classes are under construction, and navigation technology is constantly improving. He said that once the Northern Waterway is open to navigation throughout the year, it will have an important positive impact on global trade.

Arkhangelsk Oblast occupies a key position in the layout of the Northern Sea Route. Zibliski said that the state had previously launched the "Arctic Express No.1" sea-rail intermodal logistics line, connecting Moscow, Arkhangelsk Port and Chinese Port in Russia, which actually saved up to 25 days and greatly shortened the transportation time and logistics cost.

Speaking of the cooperation between the state of Algeria and China, Ziblisky said that the state mainly supplies wood processing products to China, while China mainly exports technology, machinery and automotive parts to the state.
