Trump threatens “bad things” will happen if Afghanistan doesn’t give Bagram air base to the United States

According to Reuters, U.S. President Donald Trump posted a "threat" on 20 local time that Afghanistan said there would be "bad things" if it did not return control of the Bagram air base to the United States.

Trump tweeted on Twitter that “bad things will happen if Afghanistan doesn’t return the Bagram air base to its builder, the United States.”

On the 18th local time, Trump, who was on a state visit to the UK, held a press conference with British Prime Minister Starmer, during which a surprising news broke that the U.S. government was trying to recover Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan.

The Afghan government responded swiftly to Trump's remarks on the evening of 18 and rejected a proposal for the return of U.S. troops to the Afghan air base, but retained the possibility of improving bilateral relations through dialogue.
