California bans most law enforcement operatives from wearing masks

On September 20, local time, California Governor Newton announced that he had signed a bill that would make California the first state in the United States to ban most law enforcement officers (including Federal Immigration Agency agents) from wearing masks while performing official duties.

Newton said 27 percent of California’s residents are immigrants, “we must defend their rights.”The new law bans covers such as necklaces, ski masks, but allows exceptions to hiding, tactical missions and medical masks.

Trump administration officials strongly objected to this, saying the covering of faces was a necessary measure to protect the immigration agency's agents from "human flesh" and attacks.A Department of Homeland Security spokesman condemned the new law as "humble" and accused it of endangering federal law enforcement security.

The new law also stipulates that immigration agents will not be allowed to enter schools and medical institutions without a court order.Newton said the “California Safety Campus Act” released a clear message to the Trump administration: “Keep the immigration agency away from our schools.”
