The Brazilian Permanent Delegation to the United Nations issued a statement on September 20 local time.U.S. government bans Brazilian Health Minister Alexander Padilla from visiting WashingtonParticipate in the Pan American Health Organization Executive Committee meeting.

The statement said,The United States informed the Brazilian Ministry of Health that Padilla would not attend the meetingThe visa is limited to activities in New York, and the schedule is strictly restricted between the hotel and the United Nations headquarters, where emergency visits can be made to medical institutions. Pakistan believes that this decision violates the United Nations and the United States Agreement on the headquarters of the United Nations, violating Brazil¡¯s right to put forward public health initiatives on America¡¯s most important global health platform.

The statement said that because of the U.S. imposed "unfounded and arbitrary" diplomatic restrictions, Padilla decided to cancel the trip. The statement said that the delegation of the Brazilian Ministry of Health in New York and Washington will continue to advance the relevant negotiations.
