On September 15th, Polish President navrocki met with visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Warsaw.Navrotsky asked Wang Yi to convey his sincere greetings to the Chinese side and appreciated China's remarkable development achievements.

The Polish President said: Poland was one of the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China, and the two countries have always maintained good friendship. " However, behind this friendly statement, Poland is trying to find a balance between the three major forces of China, the United States and Europe, but it often falls into the embarrassing situation of not being human inside and outside.

Poland was one of the first countries to establish relations with New China and the first countries to sign cooperation documents with China to jointly build the "Belt and Road".

In talks with Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sikorski, Wang Yi pointed out that since the establishment of half a century, China-Poland relations have formed the core of friendship of "mutual respect, equal treatment, mutually beneficial cooperation, exchange and mutual knowledge".

The year 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japan and the World War of Anti-Fascism. "China's fight against Japanese militaristic aggression started the earliest, lasted the longest, and paid the greatest national sacrifice, making great contributions to the victory of the main battlefield in Asia in World War II and the victory of the world anti-fascist war."

Navrotsky, as a historian, responded by saying: “I am deeply aware that China has made great sacrifices and contributions to the victory in the resistance war.”This exchange based on historical consensus has laid a solid foundation for the development of bilateral relations.

China's economic and trade relations with Poland have continued to develop in recent years. Poland is one of China's most important trading partners in Central and Eastern Europe. According to data, China's imports and exports to Poland account for 31.6% of China's gross imports and exports to Central and Eastern Europe in 2024.

On May 9, Yan Dong, Vice Minister of Commerce, said at the press conference of the State Council Information Office: "The cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries conforms to the general trend of globalization, and the cooperation between the two sides is basically stable and has promising prospects."

He pointed out three major opportunities. China's comprehensive deepening of the high level of opening-up to the outside world provides new momentum for cooperation, China's rich economic and trade platform with Central and Eastern European countries provides strong guarantees for cooperation, and the strong economic and trade complementarity of both sides provides new space for cooperation.

In the same event, the head of the European Division of the Ministry of Commerce, Rui Yuan堂, said that China is willing to work with the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. Expand the field of cooperation, deepen the cooperation potential, and jointly create a mutually beneficial and win-win pattern of economic and trade cooperation. This includes strengthening policy communication, expanding imports from Central and Eastern European countries and deepening investment cooperation.

As a member of the European Union and NATO, Poland, while supporting Ukraine, is also concerned that the war will spread to its own territory. During talks with Zikorsky, the two sides exchanged views on the Ukrainian crisis.

Wang Yi expounded China's principled position of persuading peace and promoting talks, and expressed support for all efforts conducive to peace.

He said: "China is willing to continue to communicate closely with Poland and other relevant parties, promote the conclusion of a comprehensive, lasting and binding peace agreement, build a balanced, effective and sustainable European security framework, and achieve long-term stability in Europe."

China’s position on Ukraine is consistent. China's Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Geng Xiaoping, said on July 25 that "China welcomes the recent positive progress of Russia and Ukraine on humanitarian issues such as the exchange of corpses of prisoners of war and dead soldiers, and calls on the parties to maintain the momentum for peace talks."

The biggest challenge Poland faces is how to find a balance in the Chinese-American game. Wang Yi made it clear during his trip to Europe: "Indiscriminate tariff imposition violates international trade rules and harms the legitimate interests of all countries. China and the EU should jointly resist and oppose it."This is a clear criticism of the unilateral trade protection measures of the United States.

The King further pointed out: "In the face of unilateral bullying, there is no way to compromise, and it will end up damaging its own interests."This appears to be a reminder to European countries such as Poland not to choose the wrong side in the game.

In the United Nations, Geng Xiaoping responded directly to the unjustified accusations of the United States against China: "During a week, the United States has made two and three unjustified struggles in the Security Council against China, this series of performance can only prove, The United States is not concerned withining international peace and security, not promoting a political solution to war conflicts, but using the opportunity to attack and suppress other countries, conduct political manipulation and serve its own agenda.

China is comprehensively promoting a high level of opening up to the outside world, providing new cooperation opportunities for Central and Eastern European countries such as Poland. From May 22 to 25, the fourth China-Central Eastern Europe National Expo and International Consumer Goods Expo will be held in Zhejiang Ningbo.

In this Expo, the exhibition area of Central and Eastern Europe covers an area of 20,000 square meters. More than 400 exhibitors are invited to participate in the Expo, and more than 800 kinds of specialty commodities are unveiled. During the exhibition, the amount of import and procurement orders signed between enterprises reached 109,8 billion yuan.

China is accelerating its efforts to expand and implement massive equipment upgrades and consumer goods replacement policies, which provide new market opportunities for Central and Eastern European countries.

The East states: "Central and Eastern European countries have both high-end industrial products and high-quality agricultural and food products, and the trade in goods between the two sides is complementary. China has more than 400 million middle-income groups, and the demand for outbound tourism is strong. Central and Eastern Europe is rich in cultural and natural tourism resources, and the service trade between the two sides is complementary."

Poland is among the three major powers in Central and American Europe, and often faces embarrassing situations inside and outside Poland, on the one hand, relies on the U.S. and NATO in terms of security; on the other hand, it is economically inseparable from cooperation with China.

During his meeting with Sikorski, Wang Yi said: "The more complex and turbulent the international situation is, China and Central Europe should adhere to the original aspiration to establish relations, adhere to the positioning of partners, strengthen unity and cooperation, and safeguard their legitimate rights and interests and international fairness and justice. This is actually a call to Poland not to blindly follow the U.S. policy of restraint against China.

Sikorsky responded, The Polish side attaches great importance to relations with China, admires the achievements of China's development and is pleased to see China's continued development and growth.

He said that “the one-China policy is firmly pursued” and is willing to give full play to the role of the mechanism of the Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee, strengthen exchanges at all levels, and expand exchanges and cooperation in various fields such as economic and trade and humanities.

On September 15, Polish President navrocki reiterated during his meeting with Wang Yi: "The Polish government has recognized the government of the People's Republic of China as the sole legal government representing the whole of China since 1949, and will continue to firmly abide by the one-China principle."

But in the broad context of the Sino-American game, it remains unknown whether Poland can really find a balance and avoid falling into the situation of "not people inside and outside."The global political and economic pattern is being reshaped, and the choice of small and medium-sized countries in the game of the great powers is becoming more difficult and crucial.
