China Rejects Unilateralism and Hegemonism

Xinhua News Agency, Geneva, September 20 (Reporter Shi Song) Chen Xu, China's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other international organizations in Switzerland, attended the 60th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council on the 18th and made a speech, opposing the interference of relevant countries in normal judicial cooperation between sovereign countries, interfering in other countries' internal affairs under the pretext of human rights, and calling for the effective promotion and protection of all human rights.

In a joint speech on behalf of the Group of Friends to Defend the Charter of the United Nations, Chen Xiaoping pointed out that the unjustified accusations and contempt made by relevant countries of normal law enforcement and judicial cooperation between sovereign countries, the abuse of unilateral coercive measures against developing countries, the use of force or the threat of force against sovereign countries, are naked acts of unilateralism and hegemony, and seriously deviate from the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations.

Xi Jinping said in a State speech that China attaches great importance to and safeguards human rights, wins the fight against poverty, and the "14th Five-Year Plan" has achieved fruitful results.China put forward global governance initiatives, advocates all parties to work together to build a more just and reasonable global human rights governance system, respect the human rights path of all countries, and resolutely oppose interfering with other people's domestic affairs under the pretext of human rights, politicalization and instrumentalization of human rights, and calls on all countries to jointly uphold the purpose and principles of the United Nations and effectively promote and protect all human rights.
