In the first eight months of this year, 3.762 million tons of goods were imported and exported via the China-Laos Railway, with a value of 17.78 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5% and 43.7% respectively, of which 5.84 billion yuan were imported and exported agricultural products, a year-on-year increase of 52.1%.

It is understood that after the normalization of the operation of the import of fruit, grain, ice fresh water products at the railway port, more and more high-quality agro-food products have chosen to be transported to the domestic market through the Chinese-old railway, this year, Laos mango and Vietnam's ice-fresh fish have also been imported through the Chinese-old railway for the first time.

With the continuous release of China-Laos railway transportation capacity, international freight has maintained a good growth trend, and the trade scale has continued to expand. Among them, imports are mainly metal ore, fruits, grain and other commodities, while exports are mainly steel, mechanical and electrical products, fruits and vegetables, department stores, etc. The categories of cross-border transportation on the China-Laos railway continue to expand, and there are currently more than 3,600 kinds. Cross-border cargo transportation has spread to 19 countries and regions including Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam.
