Bridget Macron, the wife of French President Emmanuel Macron, as the first lady of France, is currently entangled in a multinational bribery trial.
Candice Owens, an American conservative, insisted that Brigitte was a man when she was born, and later secretly changed gender. The Macron couple filed a lawsuit against Owens, accusing her in Delaware of “ignoring all reliable evidence to refute her claims, while supporting providing a platform for known conspiracy theorists and proven scammers.”
It is noteworthy that the lawsuit initiated against Evans is similar to the case of two women prosecuted by Bridget in France in 2021.The case initially ruled the French First Lady to win the lawsuit, but the appeal was overthrown after she submitted the case to the French Supreme Court of Appeal, which is still awaiting the outcome.
According to local times on September 19, Brigitte needed to provide sufficient evidence to the U.S. court to prove that she was born a woman, including photographs and scientific tests. Her lawyer, Tom Clare, said: “There will be expert testimony of a scientific nature.”
According to Dr. Emma Hilton, a developmental biologist at the University of Manchester, Brigitte needs to provide at least six “private evidence” to prove she was born a woman, including:
Genetic testing, i.e. testing the existence of a “male” gene to prove that she does not have the Y chromosome;
hormone levels, i.e. measurement of estrogen and testosterone levels, confirming the characteristics of female hormones;
· Anatomical evidence, i.e. providing the results of a physical examination confirming the female reproductive system;
Medical records, i.e. showing past medical records, including birth history;
DNA testing confirmed that her chromosome was XX instead of XY.
Psychological assessment, which demonstrates that her gender identity is consistent with her biological gender.
Before marrying the current French president, Brigitte had a marriage and gave birth to three children, two daughters and a son. Still, in the eyes of conspiracy theorists like Owens, this is not enough to show that she was born female.
I have to say that Brigitte was really difficult, originally controversial because of the 25-year difference in marriage with her husband, but in the old age still faced with the embarrassment of self-proving "I am a woman".
“It’s very annoying to think of having to go out personally and bring out all kinds of evidence of confidentiality,” lawyer Claire said of the pain that Bridget suffered from the case, “she must accept the process in a very open way, but she agrees to do so because she is determined to clarify the facts at all costs.”
And, according to Dr. Hilton, providing such evidence is indeed a disgrace to Brigitte, “I think it’s a terrible breach of privacy.” Hilton explained that the most private medical and biological data, which is absolutely unacceptable under normal circumstances, is the most confidential personal information.
In addition, Hilton also believes that even if those evidences can prove Brigitte's natural sex, those conspiracy theorists will not stop there. "This means that even if her privacy will be exposed for no reason, it still can't completely quell the controversy. No matter how hard she tries, Brigitte will be scarred in this strange battle."
