The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its official website that it is deeply regrettable and disappointing that the UN Security Council is unable to stop the massacre in the Gaza Strip due to the U.S. exercise of its veto rights.

The Russian side called for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the release of hostages and prisoners, the security of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip and the resumption of the peace process on the basis of recognised international law.

The draft resolution calls for an immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the immediate and unconditional release of all detainees in a decent manner, and Israel¡¯s immediate and unconditional lifting of restrictions on humanitarian aid access to the Gaza Strip and distribution of aid materials in the Gaza Strip.
